A 31-year-old man from Toronto is facing more than a dozen charges after police allegedly discovered fraudulent license plates, a loaded firearm, illegal drugs, over 170 rounds of .22 caliber ammunition, an extended magazine containing 31 rounds of 9mm ammunition, a starter pistol, an expandable baton, and more than $180,000 in cash during the execution of search warrants in North York.
According to Toronto Police, the accused was observed driving a vehicle on multiple occasions between March 9 and May 17, despite being disqualified from operating a motor vehicle under the Criminal Code of Canada. Following these observations, investigators obtained two search warrants for a residence and a storage locker located near Jane Street and Finch Avenue West.
Police stated that during the searches, they located and seized the items, including the fraudulent license plates, a firearm, a quantity of illegal drugs, ammunition, and a significant amount of Canadian currency. The accused, identified as Sensombo Nop, was arrested on June 2.
Nop, a resident of Toronto, faces a comprehensive list of charges, including three counts of operating a conveyance while prohibited, two counts of uttering a forged document, two counts of unlawfully possessing counterfeit marks, two counts of possessing identity information for a fraudulent purpose, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited or restricted firearm, two counts of careless storage of a firearm, weapon, or prohibited device, four counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession for the purpose of selling cannabis, possession of proceeds obtained by crime over $5,000, unlawfully producing a Schedule I substance, possession of a prohibited weapon, and careless use or storage of ammunition.
