Lakeshore Launches Online Bylaw Complaint Portal
Lakeshore has introduced a new online bylaw complaint portal designed to streamline the process for residents to submit and monitor their bylaw-related requests. The portal is accessible via home computers or mobile devices, offering convenience and efficiency.
When reporting a bylaw infraction, users can select the "Response Requested" option to receive a follow-up after the issue has been investigated. This response will include the name of the staff member who handled the inquiry and details on whether any violations were found. The bylaw complaint link is available on the town's official website.
24 New Paramedics Join Essex-Windsor EMS
Two dozen new part-time paramedics were officially welcomed into Essex-Windsor EMS during a ceremony held at the County of Essex administration building council chambers last week. Chief Justin Lammers addressed the recruits, emphasizing the challenges and rewards of the profession.
"Paramedicine is a profession that will test you, shape you, and at times, stretch you," Lammers said, as reported on the county's website. "The toughest parts of this job are not always in the textbooks. Sometimes they are there in the quiet moments afterward, the reflection, the doubt, the weight you carry home. You will meet people on the worst days of their lives. And you will also work beside people who may be carrying things you will never see." He added, "Sometimes the most powerful thing you can offer is not a medication or a procedure, it is patience and kindness."
LaSalle Seeks Public Input on Transit Future
Residents of LaSalle are invited to share their views on the future of the town's transit system through a survey. The feedback will be incorporated into the Transit Master Plan, which aims to refine proposed route changes, service models, and future service levels and costs.
Over 150 residents and community partners participated in the first round of public engagement earlier this year. The second round will focus on refining recommendations for Route 25 (from the Morton Drive/Front Road area in LaSalle to the St. Clair College Front Entrance in Windsor), preferences for on-demand transit service, and future service levels and costs. The Transit Master Plan is available on the town's website.
An open house for public input will be held on June 15 at the Vollmer Centre, with sessions at 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The union represents operators, mechanics, lead hands, and traffic signal electricians responsible for maintaining over 1,500 kilometres of roads across all seven county municipalities.
