A 34-year-old Cambridge man has been charged after police discovered a driver asleep behind the wheel of a vehicle with suspected drugs in Kitchener. The incident occurred on May 29, 2026, when Waterloo Regional Police responded to a report of a driver slumped over in a parked car.
Details of the Incident
Officers arrived at the scene and found the driver unconscious. After waking him, they observed signs of impairment and conducted a search. Police seized a quantity of suspected cocaine and methamphetamine, along with an undisclosed amount of cash. The man was arrested without incident.
Charges Laid
The accused faces multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of proceeds of crime, and impaired driving. He was released on conditions and is scheduled to appear in court in June 2026.
