The Tyrannosaurus Rex exhibition has officially opened at the Telus Spark Science Centre in Calgary, serving as the marquee attraction of the venue's Dino Summer programming. The exhibition features a full-scale T. rex skeleton cast, along with interactive exhibits that explore the life and environment of the iconic predator.

Exhibition Highlights

Visitors can view the massive skeleton, which measures over 12 meters in length and includes a replica skull with 60 serrated teeth. The exhibit also includes fossil replicas, a dig pit for children, and augmented reality experiences that bring the dinosaur to life. According to Telus Spark officials, the T. rex is the most requested dinosaur by visitors and the centerpiece of the summer lineup.

Dino Summer Programming

Dino Summer runs from June 26 to September 7, 2026, and includes additional activities such as fossil workshops, paleontology talks, and a dinosaur-themed escape room. The exhibition is expected to attract families from across Alberta and beyond, contributing to local tourism.

The T. rex exhibition is supported by a grant from the Alberta government's Tourism Development Fund, which provided $250,000 to help bring the display to Calgary. The total cost of the exhibition was not disclosed.
