The Building Industry and Land Development Association (BILD) held its annual BILD Awards Gala on May 28 in Vaughan, recognizing excellence and innovation in the design, construction, marketing, and sales of new homes in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). Now in its 46th year, the event highlighted the achievements of individuals and projects that contribute to the homebuilding and land development industry.
Over 50 awards were presented in categories including architecture, design, marketing, people, and sales. For the first time, two Lifetime Achievement Awards were given. The recipients were David Feldman, founder and chairman of Camrost Felcorp, and Eddie Weisz, co-founder and president of Paradise Developments.
Lifetime Achievement Award Honorees
David Feldman has a city-building career spanning more than five decades, overseeing the construction of 100 buildings. He has shaped the GTA with communities such as Upper East Village in Leaside and Marina Del Rey in Etobicoke. Feldman is also a philanthropist, establishing the David Feldman Centre for Real Estate and Urban Economics at the University of Toronto's Rotman School of Management and supporting the University Health Network, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and Mount Sinai Hospital.
Eddie Weisz began his career as a construction supervisor for low-rise subdivisions across the GTA. Through Paradise Developments, he has overseen the construction of more than 15,000 homes and master-planned communities throughout the region. Weisz credits his early education in quality, accountability, and workmanship as the foundation of well-built communities.
