Five Charged in Northern Ontario Drug Bust Including Two Toronto Men

Two Toronto men are among five individuals charged in a major drug trafficking investigation in Northern Ontario, resulting in the seizure of $160,000 worth of illicit drugs, firearms, and cash.

Investigation Details

The investigation began in February 2026, led by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team and the Timmins Police. The probe targeted a network with alleged ties to the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) suspected of trafficking drugs across northeastern Ontario and Quebec.

On May 26, officers executed four search warrants at residences in Timmins and Kapuskasing, Ontario. During the searches, police seized two loaded handguns, ammunition, 990 grams of suspected cocaine, 350 grams of suspected fentanyl, 230 grams of suspected methamphetamine, 150 suspected methamphetamine tablets, a quantity of suspected MDMA tablets, hydromorphone tablets, lorazepam tablets, $2,795 in cash, 11 cellphones, digital scales, and packaging materials.

The Accused and Charges

Five individuals face a combined 38 charges. Deven Che, 23, of Toronto, faces 16 charges including firearms and drug offenses, possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000, failure to comply with a release order, and disobeying a court order. Marc Williams, 46, of Toronto, faces eight charges related to firearms, drugs, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000.

Rainbow Metatawabn, 33, of Timmins, faces nine charges for firearms, drugs, and possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime under $5,000. Vanessa Niemi, 42, of Kapuskasing, faces three charges of possession for the purpose of trafficking and one for failure to comply with a release order. Kory Donovan, 42, of Timmins, faces one charge of possession for the purpose of trafficking methamphetamine.
