The Tamarack Ottawa Race Weekend began on a joyful note Saturday with the Ottawa Kids Marathon, drawing approximately 1,900 young participants aged five to twelve. The event marked the start of the 52nd annual spring running festival, setting a vibrant tone for the weekend's activities.
A Day of Smiles and High-Fives
From the starting line to the finish, the atmosphere was filled with enthusiasm. Some children ran hand in hand, while others exchanged high-fives with team mascots, including O.G., the Ottawa BlackJacks basketball team mascot. The weather cooperated perfectly, adding to the festive mood.
On the sidelines, parents, friends, and supporters cheered loudly, their smiles matching those of the runners. One parent at the finish line asked a child, "You're not even sweating... How did you do it?"
