S.E. Cupp Blasts Trump for 'Gross' Walkout, Says He Wants Propaganda
S.E. Cupp Blasts Trump for 'Gross' Walkout Over Election Lies

Conservative commentator S.E. Cupp harshly criticized Donald Trump for abruptly ending an interview with NBC News' Kristen Welker, describing the former president's behavior as "gross" and suggesting he prefers propaganda over genuine press interactions.

Trump's Abrupt Exit

Trump stormed out of the interview, which aired on Sunday's edition of "Meet the Press," after Welker repeatedly challenged his baseless claims that the 2020 presidential election was stolen from him. Trump lost the election to Joe Biden.

Discussing the moment on CNN's "OutFront," anchor Erin Burnett noted there was "something visceral" and "unsettling" about Trump's reaction. She suggested he either intended to leave that way or "truly lost control of his anger and frustration."

Cupp's Analysis

Cupp responded: "I don't think he intended this. I think he got angry." She acknowledged that Trump frequently discusses election fraud but noted it's rare for him to be in a "captive environment" where someone demands proof. "He can't prove it. So he's got to go to the greatest hits of the press is corrupt," she said.

Cupp added: "He doesn't want press, he wants propaganda. And when he's sitting across from someone who's not going to do the propaganda, he thinks, 'This country is going to hell, we don't have a good press that's going to say what I want them to say.'"

Unsettling Display

Burnett described the incident as "unsettling," particularly seeing someone in Trump's position lose self-control and composure so visibly. The exchange highlighted ongoing tensions between Trump and media outlets that challenge his false narratives.
