A 32-year-old Windsor man has been charged with sexual assault following an incident involving a 15-year-old girl. Windsor police announced the arrest on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, after an investigation that began earlier in the week.
Details of the Incident
According to authorities, the alleged assault occurred on June 7, 2026, in the 1800 block of Wyandotte Street East. The victim reported the incident to police shortly after. Investigators identified the suspect and arrested him without incident on June 8.
The accused, whose name has not been released to protect the victim's identity, faces one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference. He was held in custody pending a bail hearing scheduled for June 10.
Police Statement
Windsor police spokesperson Sergeant Steve Betteridge said, “We take all allegations of sexual assault seriously, especially those involving minors. Our investigators worked diligently to bring this suspect into custody quickly.”
The investigation is ongoing, and police are urging anyone with additional information to come forward. They also remind the public that the identity of the victim is protected under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
