The Ottawa Police Service is asking for the public's help in identifying a suspect involved in an assault that occurred on Saturday, June 6, in the 300 block of Michael Cowpland Drive. The incident took place at approximately 3 p.m., when the victim was approached by a man riding a black mountain bike.

According to a news release issued on June 9, the cyclist allegedly made racial slurs, threatened, and then assaulted the victim before fleeing the scene. The Ottawa Paramedic Service confirmed that an adult male was treated for non-life-threatening injuries and was released at the scene.
Investigation and Suspect Description
The Hate and Bias Crime Unit is leading the investigation. The suspect remains at large and is described as a white male, aged between 20 and 30 years old, approximately six feet tall with a medium build and short curly black hair. At the time of the assault, he was wearing black jeans and a black T-shirt.
