Jon Stewart Blasts Trump's 'Hissy Fit' in Wisconsin Farm Interview
Jon Stewart Slams Trump's Tantrum in Farm Interview

Jon Stewart, host of "The Daily Show," took aim at President Donald Trump on Monday for his behavior during a "Meet The Press" interview at a Wisconsin farm. Stewart described Trump as being "trapped in a barn with his worst nightmare: a woman who won't stop asking pertinent questions." Instead of providing evidence for his election conspiracy theories, Trump attacked NBC as a "one-sided crooked network" and abruptly ended the interview.

Stewart's Critique of Trump's Outburst

Stewart characterized Trump's reaction as a "hissy fit of an incredibly fragile man-baby whose paper-thin skin can’t handle venturing out of the sycophantic embrace of his tongue-bathing acolytes." He added, "I don’t know how else you could view it. It’s sad. It’s very sad." Stewart highlighted that Welker had set the stage by reminding Trump of his 2024 promise to avoid new wars, only to start one in Iran. "She just lit the fuse on the bullshit bomb!" Stewart exclaimed, as he counted down while Trump ranted about farmers, China, the economy, the border wall, and his "rigged election" claims.

Praise for Kristen Welker

Stewart praised Welker for her persistence, noting that Trump's "universal get-out-of-interview card didn't work." He pointed out that Trump's election claims "have never survived even the slightest of legal scrutiny," even from his own Justice Department in 2020. Trump later claimed his anger was due to the rain, but Welker stated that both acknowledged the rain's complications and that Trump agreed to a future interview.

Stewart dismissed the rain excuse, asserting, "Donald Trump didn’t storm out because of the rain. He stormed out because he was challenged, not because he was distracted. So maybe it’s time we stop making excuses for that man in order to preserve access to his constant bullshit."

The monologue concluded with Stewart urging viewers to recognize the pattern of behavior rather than making excuses for the president.
