Tornado Watch Issued for Southeast Saskatchewan
Environment Canada has issued a tornado watch for parts of southeast Saskatchewan, including the city of Regina, as severe thunderstorms are expected to develop Monday afternoon and evening. The watch was announced just after 3:21 PM EDT on June 9, 2026.
Storm clouds were already rolling into Regina, as captured in a photo from June 25, 2025, by David Prisciak of CTV News. Residents are urged to monitor weather conditions closely and be prepared to take shelter if a warning is issued.
What to Expect
The tornado watch means conditions are favourable for the development of severe thunderstorms that could produce tornadoes. These storms may also bring large hail, damaging winds, and heavy rainfall. Environment Canada advises that residents stay informed through local weather alerts and have an emergency plan in place.
