A tragic hiking incident in Kananaskis Country over the weekend has claimed the life of a 47-year-old resident of Airdrie, Alberta. The individual was descending Mount Bryant when the accident occurred, according to reports from the Alberta RCMP.
On Saturday, June 6, at approximately 10:30 a.m., the hiker was part of a group making their way down the mountain when the fall happened. Emergency services, including STARS air ambulance and an ALTA Paramedic Health crew, were dispatched to Range Road 73A in Kananaskis at around 10:45 a.m. Upon arrival, the hiker was confirmed deceased at the scene.
No Other Injuries Reported
Authorities have stated that no other injuries were sustained by members of the hiking group. The RCMP has not released further details regarding the incident, and an investigation is ongoing.
