Ambulance-Tractor Crash Near Beiseker Injures Three

A patient in an ambulance and two EMS personnel were taken to hospital Tuesday afternoon following a collision between the ambulance and a tractor near Beiseker, said RCMP.

At about 1 p.m. Tuesday, Airdrie RCMP Integrated Rural were called to the collision, which occurred near the intersection of Highway 9 and Range Road 254, east of Beiseker, a village located about 55 kilometres northeast of Calgary.

The ambulance had its emergency equipment activated when it collided with the tractor on Highway 9, said RCMP.

The male patient was airlifted in critical condition due to the collision.

The ambulance driver and an EMS staff member who was with the patient were transported to a hospital by ground ambulance. Their injuries were serious, but they were in stable condition.

Highway 9 was closed near the collision until further notice while police and Occupational Health and Safety investigated.
