Waterloo Regional Police Service (WRPS) has announced the seizure of multiple firearms and a quantity of drugs following a coordinated operation, leading to several arrests. The operation, which took place earlier this week, targeted individuals involved in illegal drug trafficking and weapons possession.
Details of the Operation
According to police, the operation involved officers from multiple units, including the Emergency Response Team and the Drug Enforcement Unit. During the searches, officers recovered several handguns, rifles, and a substantial amount of suspected cocaine and fentanyl. The estimated street value of the drugs is still being calculated.
Arrests and Charges
As a result of the operation, five individuals have been arrested and face multiple charges, including possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, unauthorized possession of firearms, and possession of proceeds of crime. The suspects are scheduled to appear in court later this week.
