Cereals Canada has officially launched the 2026 Growing Season Progress Report, offering timely and comprehensive updates on Canada's spring wheat crop as it develops across the Prairie provinces. The interactive report, which will be updated bi-weekly until harvest concludes in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba, provides valuable insights for domestic and international stakeholders.
Interactive Platform for Crop Monitoring
The Growing Season Progress Report is designed to deliver detailed information on seeding progress, crop conditions, quality assessments, and harvest activities. Users can explore maps, provincial highlights, and links to in-depth crop reports, all presented in an easy-to-navigate format. Historical data from previous years is also included, enabling trend analysis and comparisons.
Matilda van Aggelen, market and trade specialist at Cereals Canada, emphasized the importance of the report: "The Growing Season Progress Report provides timely insights into Western Canadian wheat production, including environmental factors that may influence crop development and quality. We encourage global and domestic customers and members of the value chain to visit the report for regular updates on the 2026 Prairie wheat crop as the season progresses."
Collaboration with Provincial Agencies
Cereals Canada works closely with provincial departments of agriculture in Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba to gather data throughout the growing season. This collaboration ensures that the report reflects accurate and up-to-date information on crop conditions and harvest progress. The interactive format allows users to access all relevant data in one centralized location.
"With most of Canada's spring wheat production concentrated in the Prairies, the report offers global buyers a clear view of how the crop is developing from seeding through harvest," van Aggelen added. "Customers around the world value transparent, up-to-date information, and the Growing Season Progress Report makes it easy to access everything in one place."
